Jess Wilkie has tonight (30th May) informed her group of swimmers that she is to return to Scotland to be closer to her family and boyfriend, and will leave her position at the end of this season (August, 2018).
The club brought Jess in to lead the age group swimmers in September 2016. In that time, Jess has helped a number of swimmers transition from the development squads to train towards County and Regional meets. Jess’s swimmers have also found success at regional level and gaining selections on various teams including; North Lancs Inter Associations, National Inter Counties and the County development camps. The club value the contribution Jess has made over the past two seasons and is equally pleased that it has witnessed her develop her own skills at the same time as helping her swimmers progress.
Nick Holmes (Chairman) said – ‘We will be sorry to see Jess leave but fully understand her reasons. We are all confident that her experiences here with PSC have helped develop her as a coach but we are equally delighted at how well she’s conducted herself in such a key role over the past two seasons. We wish her and Rob all the best back in Scotland.’
The club will now look to receive suitable applications and will aim to appoint a successful candidate to start in September 2018. ‘This is a brilliant club to be a part of. There are many opportunities for someone to come in and develop themselves as a professional swimming coach with an ambitious club. I am confident we will receive some good quality applications.’ (Samir).
