Preston Swimmers meet Olympic Stars
Five of Preston Swimming Clubs younger stars were invited to take part in the Lancashire County Swimming Association swim clinic.
Bradley Wallbank, Toby Seers, Dominic Walker, Brandon Kinder and Ella Brown were invited on the basis of their performance in last year’s 10-year-old age group Lancashire Championship events.
The clinic, which took place at the Manchester Aquatics Centre, saw 32 swimmers from across Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Merseyside work with swimming stars Keri Anne Payne – 10k Open Water World Champion and Olympic silver medallist – and Olympic freestyle specialist and double Commonwealth gold medallist David Carry.
As well as providing general inspiration, the Olympic pair gave the youngsters a one-hour gym session with two hours in the pool – providing top tips and advice on improving their strength and overall technique.
Preston coach Steve Heaps, who was there to support the swimmers, said: “The kids will remember this day for a long time.”
