Danny back on top

Preston Swimming Club Captain Daniel Sliwinski has regained his number 1 British Ranking position in the 100 metres breaststroke.

Swimming in Flanders, Belgium, Sliwinski, 21, beat the Olympic Qualifying time with a time of 1.00.75. Daniel said " I am so pleased to have swum this time especially during a period of heavy training, its a great boost.
I have suffered from three serious injuries in the last three years and its thanks to the coaches, committee, swimmers and parents of Preston Swimming Club that I have been able to remain focused and hopefully will be able to make Preston Proud in 2012"
He will fly out to South Africa to train at high altitude before he competes at the Olympic Trials in March where he has to win the 100 metres breaststorke event and swim the qualifying time of 1.00.79 or less to guarantee his place on the Olympic Team.

We wish Daniel all the best in his Olympic bid.
