For the girls, Bethany Fletcher and Emily Laurence could not be separated, taking two golds and a silver, while bronze medals being were picked up by Jessica Monks, Becky Anderson and Kelly McGinty.

Ruth Buckley came top in the eight-year-old age group with three golds and a silver.

The gold in the breaststroke went to Alicia Wood, who also won another two silvers and a bronze. The remaining silver, in the backstroke, went to Hannah Callun who missed out on gold by a mere 100th of a second.

Honours were spread in the boys with two golds and a silver to George Robinson for breaststroke and freestyle, gold in the backstroke to Jack Dewhurst and to Connor Adams in the butterfly.

Hannah Murphy won all the golds in the nine years events. Megan Eastwood took silver in all but the backstroke, where Portia Riding came second. Portia’s twin brother Ben returned a medal tally of three golds and one silver. Matthew Monks took gold in the backstroke, silver in the freestyle and bronze in the butterfly. Silver medals also went to Joseph Duerden and Thomas Black.

The 10-year-old races saw Georgia Murphy take three golds and a silver, with Rachel McDonagh taking gold in the breaststroke, as well as a silver and a two bronzes. The remaining silvers went to Georgia Elderfield.

For the boys, the competition winner was Ethan Fielding who achieved gold in all four strokes, being pushed by Hugh Barnes taking three silvers and a bronze and George Pearson taking two bronzes and a silver.

Top positions in the 11-year-old girls events went to Olivia Baron, with two golds and two silvers, and Hayley Graveson, with two golds and one silver. The other silver medal went to Keara Mulvaney.

In the boys’ event, superstar Jack Baldwin came first in all four events.

It was in the 12-year-old age group where the overall girls champion took honours. Susie Bilsborough took two golds and two silvers to come out on top, although Emma Keany was not far behind with two golds and one silver.
