About Water Polo
Let us help you reach your full potential
Water Polo is a seven-a-side team game played by swimmers in a pool, and consists of four quarters of eight minutes, in which the two teams attempt to score goals by throwing the ball into their opponent’s goal, with the team with the most goals at the end of the game winning the match. Physical, fast-paced and with lots of goals, it’s a thrilling spectacle and great to play!
The game developed in Britain from about 1870 and has been in the Olympic Games since 1900. There are now around 15,000 people playing water polo in the UK across all levels.
Here in Preston, we operate a junior team who play matches across the region and train on a Thursday and Sunday evening at Fulwood leisure centre. New players to the game are always welcome!
